What's in the Bag? 2025 Edition

Every golfer’s bag tells a story — about their game, their tendencies, and how they approach the course. For me, it’s about building a setup that matches my strengths, balances my tendencies, and gives me confidence from tee to green. I play a naturally high ball flight with my irons and a slight fade with most of my longer clubs. My setup is built to keep that in check when I need to and let me lean into it when it’s to my advantage. Here’s a look at what I’m gaming in 2025 and why each club earns its spot in the bag.

Driver – Ping G425 LST (Low Spin Technology)

Shaft: Synyster CB 65 Five (X-Stiff)

The G425 LST has been my gamer because of its stability and ability to keep spin under control. Pairing it with the Synyster CB 65 X-Stiff gives me a penetrating ball flight that holds my slight fade in check. On average, I carry it about 265 yards with total distances around 285 — plenty of distance without giving up control.

3 Wood – Titleist TSi3

Shaft: Tensei AV Series 65 (Stiff)

The TSi3 is my go-to when I need placement over raw distance. The Tensei AV shaft loads smoothly and lets me shape my fade with confidence. Off the tee, it’s a fairway finder. Off the deck, it’s my option into long par 5s where I need a controlled landing.

3 Iron – Ping G425 Crossover

Shaft: Nemesis Hybrid 90 Four

The G425 Crossover fills the gap perfectly between my woods and irons. It’s more forgiving than a traditional driving iron, but still produces the low, controlled flight I like in the wind. The hybrid shaft gives it a smoother feel, which keeps my strike consistent.

Irons – Ping G425 (5–PW)

Shafts: KBS Tour C-Taper X-Stiff

My irons are one of the strongest parts of my game. I hit them high with a slight fade, so the G425 heads give me forgiveness without losing precision. The C-Taper X-Stiff shafts help lower my peak height just enough to keep the ball from ballooning, even in windy conditions.

Wedges – Vokey SM10 (48°, 54°, 58°)

Shafts: KBS Wedge Shafts

This is my first season gaming Vokeys, and so far, they’re delivering on feel and spin control. The 48° blends seamlessly from my iron set for full shots, the 54° handles most approach and bunker work, and the 58° is my go-to around the greens. I’m still fine-tuning my distances with them, but the precision is already there.

Putter – Spider S

Grip: Jumbo Max Jumboflat i3

The Spider S has the stability I want when the pressure’s on. The Jumbo Max Jumboflat i3 grip helps quiet my hands and keeps my stroke consistent. It’s a setup built for repeatable speed control and confidence on the short ones.

Grips

Iomic Sticky 2.3 (Midsize) across my entire bag except the putter. The tacky feel inspires confidence in all conditions, and the midsize helps keep grip pressure consistent during long rounds.

Final Thoughts

This bag is all about control and confidence. My driver and woods keep me in play off the tee, my irons let me attack pins without worrying about spin getting away from me, and my wedges give me the tools to score around the green. Every club has a defined role, and together they help me lean into my strengths while keeping my tendencies in check.

Chip’s Charity – Using Golf to Make a Lasting Impact

Golf has always been part of my life. My grandparents played, my parents played, and now my brother and I play. It’s more than just a game to me — it’s been a constant connection across generations. But over time, I’ve realized I want the game to be an even bigger part of my life, not just as a player, but as a platform to make a difference. I’ve helped organize charity events in the past and dedicated my time to supporting other causes, but this one is different — this one is mine. Chip’s Charity is my way of taking my passion for golf and turning it into something that can truly make an impact in people’s lives.
